Successful Installation of Laser Transmitter in Cement Industry
Limestone is an important ingredient in cement. Lime stone is brought in the premises of cement industry through a large dumper truck and is unloaded. During the process, substantial amount of dust is released in the air. This dust pollutes air and is disastrous to the health of personnel working in the premises. Hence monitoring & minimizing airborne dust is very essential activity to eliminate environmental hazardous condition in cement industry.
At Emami Cement Ltd in Chhattisgarh, Techtrol has installed their laser transmitter for controlling the released dust during unloading of lime stones from dumper truck.
The installed transmitter is used to detect the ‘Hydraulic Delivery Flap’ of a dumper truck, during unloading of lime stones for further crushing operation. On detection of delivery flap, the built-in relay of the laser transmitter is actuated to activate the water spray system, which showers water on airborne dust to help it settling down.
We have provided the solution through a transmitter based on laser instead of ultrasonic /radar transmitter, as laser transmitter has a very quick & accurate response. Moreover its narrow beam angle is aimed at the target without causing any false echoes.
The system is working satisfactorily for over last 3 months.
