Groundwater is the most precious natural resource of any nation. Water is mainly used by human beings for drinking purposes, agriculture and industry.

Available surface water does not meet the increasing demand and hence groundwater is extracted on a large scale. It is very much necessary to control the usage of groundwater and maintain an adequate level of the aquifer.

The Central Ground Water Board of India monitors, controls and regulates the extraction and use of the groundwater. 

The data collected by monitoring groundwater can be used to determine the amount of groundwater that can be safely withdrawn.

Pune Techtrol has provided the solution for real-time monitoring of groundwater level by installing the "AWLR system" at one of Pune based industry.

The hydrostatic transmitter is installed in bore-well to measure the water level. The system logs the real-time level of water and displays it locally. It also transmits the logged data to five authorized persons and to a remote indicator in Nagpur through the GSM network.

The data displayed in Pune is replicated on the remote indicator in Nagpur. This data is stored and the data report is sent to the Central Ground Water Board for its monitoring purpose.

The system is installed successfully and is working satisfactorily since 8 months.
